Seven2 Announces Snow Report Widget and Apple iPhone Application

SPOKANE, WA – Digital agency Seven2 creates an iPhone snow report application and widget in a partnership with SnoCountry.com, the largest snow conditions reporting service in the world.

The Apple iPhone application allows skiers and snowboarders to track the latest conditions at their favorite ski resorts from their phone. Once a user has selected a specific region they are provided with a list of corresponding resorts. Every time they open the application the snow report for the chosen resorts are updated. “Within days of the initial launch there were already thousands of users of the iPhone applications and the snow report was such a hit that Apple awarded it as one of their staff picks” says Nick Murto, principal at Seven2.

Seven2 also created a widget version of this popular snow reporting tool. Customers can embed the widget on their Facebook page, MySpace page, blogs and other social networking sites. In addition, the widget can be placed on the user’s desktop if they are running Mac OS, Windows Vista or Yahoo! Widgets. This allows them to have the latest resort information at their fingertips.

Murto created PowderChurch.com, a social networking site that allows skiers and snowboarders to share stories, photos and videos of their winter pastime. Many of the Powder Church members had been asking for a way to easily find these snow reports in one place. Now, Seven2’s widget makes it easy for thrill-seekers everywhere to find the perfect time to head to the mountain.

SnoCountry is operated by real skiers and riders who know the Snow. SnoCountry delivers customized snow conditions reports for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding, along with resort information, including trail maps, to a vast array of media partners including a national network of radio and television stations as well as numerous web sites. SnoCountry's media partners include firms like USAToday.com, Associated Press, MSN Weather, The New York Times and many more that turn to SnoCountry for the most useful ski resort information in the world, year round. Seven2 Creates Web Site and Online Ads for Youth Anti-Smoking Campaign

SPOKANE, WA – Seven2, the online advertising agency, has created , a web site and online ad campaign for the Washington State Department of Health to help raise awareness about the “grossness” of smoking. Seven2 partnered with Seattle advertising agency Sedgwick Rd. who hatched the original idea and created the TV, radio and other traditional elements for the campaign.

The campaign, aimed at 11 – 14 year olds, leverages the theme, “Kissing a smoker is just as gross,” and uses pictures of dolls chewing on gross items such as dead rodents and rotten food to drive home the point that kissing a smoker is disgusting.

“It is a great project to be a part of because the imagery is so arresting.” said Tyler Lafferty, one of Seven2’s principals. “We’re excited to be helping Sedgwick Rd. and WSDOH reach kids with a good message.”

The web site encourages visitors to feed a doll head any number of disgusting items including rotten tomatoes, fish heads, cockroaches and a dead rat. The site has a viral game component that lets users challenge their friends in the Yuck Chuck Challenge. There is also a gallery for downloading desktop wallpapers, mobile phone wall papers and instant messaging icons. The entire campaign is expected to run through 2006.

Seven2 is an online advertising agency specializing in both brand and direct response campaigns. The firm’s clients include Nintendo of America, Cingular Wireless, Netflix, New Line Cinema and MTV.

Seven2 Interactive Announces Poderator

SPOKANE, WA – Seven2, an online advertising agency, has today announced its new free service called Poderator: http://www.poderator.com

Poderator is an online tool that allows Podcasters to easily create the complex RSS files needed to publish their Podcasts. Traditionally many Podcasters manually create their own RSS feeds, but the task is moderately complex for the average publisher.

Once a user sets up their account, they simply fill out web form fields that are used to generate the RSS file. Each time the user creates a new episode of their podcast they come back to their Poderator account and add a link to that new MP3 file. They then generate a new RSS file to replace over their old one.

Poderator is the brainchild of Nick Murto, principal at Seven2 and Matt Cardoza, Seven2’s Senior Application Developer. “We had clients that were interested in the technology, but they really were not sure where to start” says Murto. Seven2 was also working on their own podcast at the time, but could not find any tools available to help them publish their feeds.

Poderator is a free service and there are no current plans for a subscription model at this time. Podcasters will need to provide their own hosting environment to store their MP3 and RSS file.

Seven2 hopes to add features to Poderator based upon user requests.
